Welcome to Churchtown Church of God
Welcome to the Churchtown Church of God where we are traditional but not old fashioned
No matter the generation, the church, in many ways, has moved away from engaging people in the darkness - showing them the light of Christ. Sometimes it is because we are afraid to use such words as: obedience, submission, and holiness - all of which are biblical terms, biblical concepts, and biblical commands. In fact, the Bible is VERY specific as to what these behaviors look and sound like in the real world. Consider, for example, that our children are immersed in a Godless, secular humanist worldview 35 hours a week as they move through our school system; they spend another 30 hours a week in the modern day Sodom and Gomorrah that we call smart phones and social media. The average adult, lost in the Godless world, only hears the name of Jesus Christ attached to obscenities and learns about church from anti-Christians media streams. So what are we WE as the church doing? What are WE as followers of Christ doing?
Today we explore our faith in the sovereignty of God and the Truth of His word and why, or why not, we hold fast to His teachings. We love Christian church culture, to be sure, but Christian FAMILY culture means that every believer has a responsibility to every other believer (especially to the young) to preach and to teach the morality taught to us in the Word of God. What, exactly, are we afraid of? Turning On the Lights! Friday, May 20 2022. A more informal, free-flowing discussion about a wide variety of things: Who we are; Who God is - and the traits that we share and do not share. We take a bit of time discussing the specific trait of wisdom through the lenses of both Proverbs 3 and James 1. I hope that you find this entertaining, informative, and challenging - and, as always, I WILL SEE YOU IN CHURCH!
Christmas Hymn Sing 2021. A beautiful and fun tradition here at Churchtown. We hope that you enjoy the fun and the music. Merry Chiurstmas.
