Approaching Ministry

If a philosophy of ministry is like a business plan, I do not have one. I have not the experience necessary to know what works and what doesn’t when it comes to preaching the Word and meeting the needs of a congregation.
If a philosophy of ministry is a general idea of how I intend to approach my service in the Kingdom of Christ, stating that is quite simple. I will meet people where they are and, if given the opportunity, convey to them the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have a great strength in unconditionally accepting people for who they are and where they are in life and I believe that is a gift given to me by the Lord to use ultimately in His service. I simply want people to know that every day of their lives, God’s hand is extended to them and the opportunity is available for them to complete their humanity by entering into a loving relationship with their creator. I will pray that the message I convey will fall on fertile soil. If not, I, like the model I have been given to follow in scripture, will try again the next day.

I believe in corporate worship; but I believe that corporate worship begins with individual hearts dedicating themselves to the service of Jesus Christ our Lord. The church is not the brick and mortar; the church is the collective heart of a congregation of believers who, within the context of his or her own personal decision serves the Lord in his or her own personal way. The church is that body of individually created, individually dedicated souls sharing a common experience in the Holy Spirit. This defines the Missio dei and is the working foundation of Christ’s kingdom on Earth.
Do you have a personal “philosophy of ministry?”

Have you given any consideration to you personal definition of ministry? Of worship?

Have you ever wondered what the purpose of church is? Let alone the definition of church.
