That is, until things go awry. Then we go back to the Lord in prayer and beg for Him to "re-order our circmstances." Not only do we refuse to recognize that it was US not HIM that bunged it up, we further refuse to embrace the circumstances as they are. We just want out - we want what we want - not what HE wants.
Just some things to think about... and I was thinking about them last night.when I jumped on my new riding mower and started to mow. After a few feet the deck belt shredded and blew out from under the mower. That was disturbing. Needless to say, I was angry - but not to worry for the mower was new and under warranty. I called and sure enough, it was covered. I even got FREE PICK UP! I was super happy about that and told the lady so. She said great and that they would be out to get the mower...SOMETIME AROUND MEMORIAL DAY!!!!!!!!
Whatever - come and get it. Take your time, 'cause I got a back up plan.
I jumped on the Cub Cadet, fired it up and rode it to the back of the property to pump up the flat tire. I hooked up the little electric pump and away it went - the pump was pumping and the tire was filling up - until it blew up and caught on fire. I grabbed it quick and threw it into the tall, wet grass - just as the Cub Cadet stopped running. I kicked the mower and hurt my toe. So I had to push the mower back to where it was parked with my foot throbbing, which was bad enough until I stepped on the burning motor ot the little electric air pump.
At that point I just stopped talking, stopped thinking, and stopped trying.
As I see it, I was a little ahead of the plan for that day and God needed to "re-order my circumstances" just to remind me of who exactly was in charge. to my surprise, I actually accepted that - and that alone was a MAJOR step for me. No cussing, nothing damaged, and I am still married.
Things break People break realtionships break even the earth breaks
God doesn't break
It was a good day yesterday
Now if only He made mowers.
